The Apogee/THX Motion Picture Theater System One (MPTS-1), designed by the THX division of LucasArts Entertainment, is licensed by THX for post-production facilities, dubbing stages, film and video screening rooms and small cinemas.

Manufactured by Apogee Sound to exacting standards, the MPTS-1 represents the state-of-the-art in film and video sound systems. Facilities incorporating the MPTS-1 system may also qualify for THX certification pending review of the room’s acoustic parameters. Incorporating a sophisticated twelve output processor, the tri-amped system is accurate and linear for professional use while capable of breathtaking realism and dramatic impact for an unparalleled entertainment experience.

Consisting of three main channels (left-center-right), an extended range subwoofer and four surround loudspeakers, the system can be installed with only 18” of available depth behind the screen (an important consideration for maximum utilization of available space). Each of the three main channels consists of two enclosures; one housing the woofer and one for the mid-range and high-frequency components.

This design, which incorporates an adjustable bracket with precise pan and tilt of the mid-high enclosures for best localization and uniform coverage of the listening environment. The system is designed to flush mounting in a 2(PI) boundary baffle.

Featuring remote selection of the industry standard ISO 2969 “X” curve for film mixing, high frequency compensation for screen loss (individually selectable for each of the three main channels); and an exceptionally well engineered high fidelity signal path with the highest quality components, the MPTS-1 processor provides cross-overs, time domain alignment and equalization perfectly matched to the loudspeaker system.
